Bear hunting Siskiyou County, CA

Any areas in Siskiyou County BZone anyone had success in?

I don't hunt Siskiyou, but of 30 California counties where bears were taken in past years, Siskiyou is in the top 5 for bear harvest. I'd say you have a good chance.

A lot of that area has fires burning right now. My kid is up there fighting them. That could be good, or bad for locating bears.

I grew up in Siskiyou county. Bears everywhere and tons of public land with good access.

I was talking to a ranger the other day who said that the area around Manzanita Gulch and Lick Mountain has been pretty "beary" as of late. I am trying to hunt north of that in Oregon, so I have not checked it out myself.
