Barnes LRX 175 grain

Ah, I see what you meant now redmt; I think you were clear and I was just being dense 😅.

I'm going to start sounds like our friendly resident Hammer Bullets unofficial pro-staffer, but damned if they haven't been significantly more accurate and less fussy with regard to seating depth and pressure than the Barnes I've loaded. The 182gr. HHT slightly beats the 175gr. LRX for BC and beats it by 100-200fps comparing load data.

The 175 LRX with RE22 has been my go to elk load for years now. I'm slowly burning through my RE22 powder supply and starting to experiment with Ramshot Hunter and H4831SC for an eventual replacement. The Hunter produced a very accurate load but I'm seeing better velocities and smaller SD's with H4831SC, I also like the temp stability of the Extreme powder given that an elk hunt in MT can vary from temps in the mid 60's to -30 degrees throughout the season!
