Has anybody used the Geigerrig Hydration Engine and filter system? I planning a back country bow hunting trip and I need a new water system. We are going in on horse back. The product has got a lot of good reviews but I want to see what you guys think. Thanks

KISS, somewhat of a Gimmick. Plus it's added weight an one more thing to go wrong. I would just go with a good hydration pack.

Never used the one you mentioned...We used Katadyn Base Camp filters to fill standard Camelbaks bladders as well as carried either a Steripen (pretty gimmicky but works) or a Life Straw when out camelbaks were out.

Platypus makes a good system.

I own a couple. It's awesome. I also carry a life straw. It also works awesome as an at camp pressurized gravity filtration system. Google it, there are youtube videos. The bladders are ridiculously strong also and completely warrantied. Get a couple filters I believe they are only rated for 50 gallons. Hope this helps.
