I think the ages and results have more to do with HuntTalk than hunting. Although, I first joined a hunting forum at 14 or 15 (2005?) and there were a bunch of youths (or creepers pretending to be 🤔) but those places are ghost towns now.

50 isn't so bad except it robs you of being able to say about yourself that you are "young" without sounding foolish to actual young people.

Only much older people will call you young now, which I think is just their wry sense of humor on display.

On the plus side, I got my shingles shot today. Try that - you 49'ers.

Helped a 72 year old pack out bull last Fall. 12 years my senior and he is still at it. It was fun. mtmuley
70 some year old guy we met last year was going back for his last trip on a cow he shot and somebody took it. Felt terrible for that guy, he was beyond upset.

1955, Mr. Sandman was the hit... or Rock around the Clock.

I get up @ 0400 or there about each morning, still. Tell Dotti we're OK and we made it another day.
Planning another solo elk hunt this year...if I get a tag.

25th was a huge cioppino party ... kegs and 20 gal. of cioppino.
50th was most of the family and reserved.

Choice between ribeye or elk backstrap this year. Just us.
Dotti observes every freezer opening like a surprise party.
