Glad everyone survived. It is a good reminder to pay attention to avy danger in the early season.

No, the same thing happened last year. These are just little slides that probably won't bury you but they can knock you off balance, rake you across the rocks, smash you into trees and for the final insult send you off a cliff. You could get buried if the terrain necks down into a narrow drainage.

Look where these guys were swept (from the report)! They obviously weren't considering the possibility of an avalanche. The danger is easy to see in hindsight. It was 6:30am so it was dark. Maybe they were going to the peak to glass the area. The lee side sheltered them from the wind, but it is also where the wind slabs form.
