Anyone done a lost title vehicle purchase?

LMC has everything you need for square body trucks. Order the catalog. mtmuley
You have to be careful on price, they absolutely gouge you on some stuff. Then shipping is thru the roof. LMC for me was the place to shop when you couldn’t find it elsewhere.

I agree. I needed rear window glass (firewood hauling accident) and found it for less elsewhere. But as far as selection of parts, down to missing miscellaneous screws their selection is tough to beat. mtmuley

I only need small corners if I buy this.

Hopefully not shipping big panels.

Need a drivers front fender. Hoping that would be a local thing.

I would be able to carefully keep the badges of the old one.

Size of the product doesn’t matter for them to jack shipping up. I had ordered the front bow tie badge for my OBS. Box was 5x5x8 maybe, shipping was over $25.

I ordered it from them as it was GM. It was old stock that I found out had bad paint. The paint was used to glue the two pieces of plastic together. I went thru 2 in a week before they refunded me. Hopefully they quit selling them.

If you do buy it, only buy it with the death certificate and bill of sale.

It can speed up the process. The funeral home that did the service can order the family a copy with a phone call.

In alabama it is just an online form to get a replacement title. My parents bought some land and the lady told us her brother would come get the truck that was parked there. 9 years later and many reminders later it was still there. Turns out that anyone can do the form if you have the owners info and get the new title shipped anywhere you want.

It's mine. Drove it home on the back roads since no tabs yet. Missed 3rd to 2nd downshift a couples time and ground some. Oops .

Seller signed over a Washington title. I will have to get a VIN inspection for Idaho title and tabs. Then a 4-6 weeks wait for the vanity plate.

I want to load it up with firewood tomorrow but it has rusted off mufflers. A fire starter for sure in this dry grass.

Now that it's mine I can see the warts I missed before. Rattling driver's door and a fuel feed problem. Starves out on steep hills. Less fuel than the gauge says, or filter, or tank dirty. I don't want to it to be a carb float. I can deal with that but don't feel like it at the moment. I did notice the fuel line is slightly crimped next to the fuel pump. Texted the seller and he said he did not put a filter in it.

Actually less body cancer than I thought. One door skin and one spot on the driver's side rear wheel well.

Not anti-lock. ;) Rears lock and it wants to skid on our gravel roads. It's a long box so NBD for an experienced driver. Has power steering but it sure ain't an Indy car. Pretty sloppy front end.

The first real work when it's road ready is to head in to get the posts and lumber for a carport. That will do until the shop is done. Not going to baby it, but not going to let it go to rust either.

Tomorrow some of the growing car lot will get put in out of the weather.

Son moving out so we will only have 6 cars left.

I am going to either sell the 1986 Tercel or put Miss T in it. It needs a clutch and that means pulling the engine. PITA job without a good workspace. I used to have 4 of these. I know them well. One of the best d-derby cars ever made. Just saying.
