I figure there are enough Idaho guys here that I might get some help on this one, my Dad has a cow tag for unit 44, its good until nov. 30th. I have hunted 44 before and had success, but never this late in the year. The one catch is that he just had heart surgery in August so too much hiking isnt really feasable. We were up there this weekend and didnt see any cows, we are headed back up later this week for a day or two. There isnt any snow to speak of, so my guess is they are still up high out of his (our) reach . Any help would be great. I know he is just happy to be hunting, but getting an elk the same year he had heart surgery would be quite a story. Thanks.
