Any hockey fans out there?

If they had to play constantly against team like Detroit, Tampa, Florida, Philly, Canes, Islanders, Habs etc. They wouldn't have over 60 points. Instead they play mostly teams below .500 and then choke in them playoff's

Haven’t had the wings yet, but have run pretty good against the rest of that list effectively every other game this year so far (16/36 games against the east) so not sure what the argument is 🤷‍♂️

Random thought: I wish they'd go back to 1-8 playoff seeding. I hate the divisions/wildcards. I think 1-8 is more fair and rewards the higher seeds.
If the 'yoffs started today, My Mild (3rd in the conference in pts) would play the Stars (2nd in the conference in pts) in the first round. Seems silly to me to send one of the three best teams in the conference home after round one.
The league really likes those first round division matchups....

Agree. Penalizes the strong Divisions.

TBH i wish come playoff time they got rid of the divisions all together. Have all the teams going up against each other rather then East vs West until the finals. It would also make the rivalries more intense.

Interesting thought while I sit here...

Back before goalies wore a mask, if you kept shooting at his face, was that a sure shot way to get your teeth knocked in?

If not, how did they keep the forwards from targeting the face?

Anyone watching the World Juniors tournament? It’s been pretty good so far. There’s no way the crowd sizes are what they say they are.

I know they are. They're saying theirs 5-10 thousand people at the games, that's just not right. If it wasn't for the Canadian and some US fans the arenas would be nearly empty

F*#k Florida. NHL outdoor games should be played in true outdoor arenas, where it’s bitter cold and during the day. This is boring.

I’m all for it. Grow the game.

They have oversaturated the outdoor games, but it doesn’t bother me where they play it, so long as they can manage the ice.

Bah. With almost half of the teams in the league south of the Mason-Dixon Line, hockey is doing just fine. Outdoor games should be a celebration of the roots of the game.

My son was responsible the ice at a Stadium Series game in Raleigh. Highlight of his career, and it was a proud dad moment to listen to the players and commentators rave about how good the ice was. But as a fan, I’d rather see them played where it’s cold. Like really cold. 🥶

Semi's are today and the Swed/Fin game should be a great one
I just learned that SlingTV has a day pass option. $4.99 for their basic lineup, and $5.99 if you include the sports extra that has NHL Network. Much easier than singing up for “trial” versions of other streaming services just to watch a specific show and then cancel. So for those of you without a service that gets you NHL Network, this might be an option for watching the games.
