Any Encore or Contender 45-70 shooters out there?

Last weekend I had a moment of weakness, or stupidity I'm not sure which, and bought a 15" Encore in 45-70 Gov. I have 4 Contenders from .22 Hornet to .35 Rem. and decided it was time to step up to the Encore since the selection of high power barrels is quite a bit larger (up to .458 Win Magnum in a 15"). Before I took the pistol home I had a trigger job done on it and dropped the let off weight to 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. Does anyone have any pet loads for this set up? I thought about starting with 28 or 29 grs. of 2400 and a 300 gr. bullet. Any other suggestions?
