My buddy and I are looking to head to Alaska for a drop float moose hunt in the next few years. Any recommendations on outfitters?

Willow Air has been on here.

Alot of the other air charters as well. Maybe 60" club. Depends on your budget. If money's no object the options are quite a few. However they are limited into anybull zones and most book several years in advance.

That would depend greatly on what part of the state you are floating. For instance, if you're going up near the Brooks Range Coyote Air does drop offs. Every part of the state has guys that specialize in their region. For example, I wouldn't trust a fair-weather Fairbanks pilot on a Kodiak island goat hunt, I would use Island air. Do you have a region in mind or are you just in the beginning stages of the plans and putting out some feelers?

Like was mentioned above, I recommend getting a reservation ASAP. Depending on the area some pilots are booked years out.

Appreciate the info. We’re just starting the search and putting some feelers out there. Unfortunately, I’m on the younger side so must of my hunting buddies are still on a limited income, which ultimately limits my options.

I booked a NBR hunt couple years back for 7k so I figured moose hunting would be a cheaper option for my hunting buddies. Boy was I wrong, I’m seeing DYI moose hunts advertised for 10-15k? Is that the going rate in Alaska?

I was hoping to incorporate a fly in so we could do a remote float on our bigger sized pack-rafts that can support carrying a moose. We’re just looking for an adventure, a harvested moose would be a bonuses.
