I've got a 10 year old Mountainsmith ultralight down bag that's seen plenty of time in the field. I imagine partially from use and somewhat from misuse it's developed a few cold spots where some of the baffles have lost down and/or loft.
I've been thinking as an off season project I could add some quality down to the bag by making small insertions in the baffles, add down, then resew. I'd imagine i could even add sufficient extra down to make the bag even warmer.
I'm sure the manufacturer would be happy to do it for a price, just thinking I could save a few bucks and do it myself.
Has anybody ever tried this? Any tips? Maybe it'd be so much of a pain as to warrant having the manufacturer do it.
