Dang you, now you got my engineering mind rolling. My first thought was "how did someone not answer zero" but now I think I could argue 2. Funny that I can't argue 1 yet you want to argue for zero or 1 but not two.This was a fairly lively lunchroom debate at a table of engineers. I could argue both zero, and 1, but not two. The trickiest part is who inconsistent "hole" is in English.
Its zero because a straw creates a "tunnel", no holes.
Its 2 because you could look at each end being an entrance to a hole. This would be with the understanding that a hole isn't defined by any sort of depth/distance.
