A year after being in the Nam skipper saw me and said the beard and hair have to go, they buzzed me clean. The skipper then told me to never get a buzz cut, you have the ugliest skull.
I did it once more a few years later and my mom saw my skull, now covered in scars and lumps. She said never do that again.
Had longish hair ever since.
