Is there any way to hunt in Canada without an outfitter?

Is there a way to hunt 'exotics' in the States that isn't on a ranch somewhere?

I think you can do 'drop hunt' type hunts, but you're still somewhat under supervision by an outfitter. They're pretty reasonable though.

Exotics? Like what hogs, goats, horses? You can hunt oryx, audad and ibex in NM. Not sure of the specifics though.

Hunt goats, sheep, pig and axis deer in the hawaiian islands.

I never thought about Hawaii...is there public land there? I've seen them hunt hogs on shows there, but they were outfitted hunts.

I would LOVE to put an arrow through an axis deer!!!

I've seen ranches in Texas and Florida and New Mexico that have a variety of exotics that bambistew mentioned on TV and online, but I was wondering if there were any free ranging somewhere that we could hunt without an outfitter

The Ibex, Oryx, and barbary sheep are all free ranging in New Mexico.
