Probably the hardest lesson I learned in my 20+ yrs with the Corps, was that I could go a lot further than I imagined possible without food, I could still keep going if I was cold, but dry, still further without good sleep, but my a$$ was grass if my feet were a couple of screaming puppies !
Personally, I wouldn't blow the whole wad on foot gear for this one trip. Give yourself a chance to go and find out what what you have, that didn't do what you expected it to, and improve on that for the next trip.
