3rd Rifle Colorado

I guess to rephrase my question, if there is a 6” snowpack at 10,000 feet, will the elk be below that elevation? If not then what about 12” snowpack? That’s what I’m more asking about?
During early archery in Northern New Mexico this year we got a foot of snow. Prior to the snow it was hot and dry and we were watching and working elk on a large North facing slope. For the first couple of days after the storm the elk stayed on the North slope. As soon as the snow on the East slope started to clear off most of the elk moved to the East side to get away from the snow still on the North face. Not exactly the same situation you have but the elk didn't seem do want to be in the snow if there was clear ground near by.
