What are some of your favorite elk and muley loads you have worked up ? Bullet weight, brand, powder ? Santa bought me a 300 WIN for Xmas and I have just started working up 200 grain Nosler Partitions using RL 22 powder. I am using the gun strictly for elk and bear. I stick to my 7 mag for deer and everything else.

180 grain balistic tips powder and weight of powder is at home. I know its 4831 and 1 grain off max load...
I only use what I can get 5/8" or less groups at 100 yards for any of my guns. Once i have it set I never change....

180 grain Hornaday Interloc on top of 69 grains of IMR4350, CCI Magnum rifle primer. 3050 fps, sub MOA group. Plenty of poop to knock down anything in North America. Once I found this load, I use it for everything.

72.0 grains of 4350 w/ a 180 sierra spbt bullet shoots well for me. I have used the same load for over 20 years. I know everyone bad mouths sierra for game but this load has taken 14 elk and 2 oryx with this old 700 without any problems.
Good luck with your new 300!

I use my 300 win mag strictly for whitetail deer, so far, out to 650 yards.

My load:
180 gr Ballistic Tip, moly coated
Reloader 22, 75gr
CCI BR-2, Large Rifle Benchrest Primer
.005" off the lands
3180FPS measured with an Oehler Crony
I use Win brass

My 300 has a 27" barrel

I would never start at 75gr of Rel 22
Start around 72gr and you should do well. Look for pressure signs.

Anneal the necks.
