2nd rifle OTC hunt about to begin.

Another scouting day. More snow. More people. Did see some promising sign. I'm pretty sure there's a rodeo right up the road judging by the amount of horse trailers we've seen.

As an added bonus we have a tent next to us today. Older lady, 2 dogs. Sounds like she's exorcising a cat just down the hill from the campsite.

I was just going to comment on how some sculpturists have no idea of animal anatomy, or they take artistry too far.

Time for the fun part. We're shutting meat between shot site, shade, and the truck. 2mi for one, 1.75 for the other. 3 people.

We got most of the meat out. The rest is hung up ready for a morning retrieval. Still one tag left.

So I will own up to being one of the guys who was dumb enough to try Colorado OTC rifle. Jwatts and I both shot bulls shortly after first light. We spent the entire day packing out meat and still have some packing to do tomorrow morning. Getting two bulls out is a chore. We are beat. Stories to follow later. I’m going to bed!

About to head in for the last load. I have a terrible cold. Yesterday almost killed me. Thought I was going to cough up a lung on multiple occasions. I will be glad when this is done.

Well, no elk today. We didn't see anything legal on the morning hunt. We got intel on a spot for tomorrow. Just trying to gauge our sanity before committing to that pack out after already bringing 2 out. We got some of the meat processed. About to head out to glass a little and get the obligatory celebration burrito.
