.270 or 30-06?

I have several 06’s and have killed a pile of deer with them but I’ll take a 270 any day. 130-150 grain bonded bullet (accubond, terminal ascent, scirocco, impact, north fork, take your pick) will do anything you need to in North America.

If I need something that actually slings bigger bullets I’d rather step up to my 35 whelen.

Both are good cartridges but I’m partial to the 270. A little milder recoil and a little flatter shooting.

The 30-06 has the benefit of a wider bullet selection and heavier bullets. If I lived in Alaska and hunted moose regularly with the chance of running into brown bear then I’d pick up a 30-06.

For me personally it would be the 30-06. I also have a 280AI and I would chose that over the 270 also. Now between the 30-06 and the 280AI I would simply have to have both! They both are fantastic, but then again there is nothing wrong with the 270 Winchester.
