2026 NFA wait times?

When the dust settles and people can get their suppressor without an extortion fee - how long will wait times be?

I have one im waiting on, I am hoping to have it by summer, but im thinking the wait is going to be months - especially considering the likely gov shutdown at the end of January. Especially because i expect a lot of folks with modern sporting pistols to sbr them.

Lot's of fear mongering on YouTube right now over ATF stopping eForm processing. The NFA hoarders are saying this is sinister and the end is near.
I spent way too much time falling down the rabbit hole of 2nd and 4th amendment prophets on YT last night.

The only one that rattled me is the new Oregon One bad gun law to rule them all. Apparently I was engaged in a felony when I went to Bigg's Junction last month. One in the pipe and 11 in the grip. Now the most egregious gun control state in the nation. Citizens having defeated this as a ballot measure, Portland and Eugene pushed it through the legislature by hook or crook. Coming to a Circuit court near you. The 9th will rubber stamp this as the always do and it will go to SCOTUS.

No clue.

I was actually rooting for a full repeal. No such luck. It is nuts to me that it is easier to acquire a suppressor in the UK than in the US.
Their system is essentially the same as requiring a 4473 for one. Like so many things, regulations have created an industry, that now has a lobbying arm. If you can legally turn a Maglite and a few freeze plugs into a can, who needs Silencer Central?

I think they should be treated as the inert objects they are. Failing that, make them a serialized firearm. Why shouldn't home built and 80% rules be applied here? Then there would be a whole new raft of "Ghost Suppressor" bans, wouldn't there?

I'm old enough to remember Pre-1986. Rust and Politicians. The no new Class III builds ban in 1986 was actually called the FOPA "Firearms Owners Protection Act"
Protection from what? Before that it was legal to own things like tubes, baffles, and threaded adapters without the assumption you were going to make a suppressor. You still needed a Form 1 to make one, but you could practice and prototype without being a felon.

It ain't over. The tax was the justification. Now with zero dollar tax, the courts may put an end to it. Then you'd see cheap suppressors.

I have no idea how long it will take. I bet a dollar it will be months of shortages of suppressors and long waits if you can find one to buy.
