2026 Idaho Nonresident Deer & Elk

Wow, I got selected for a Palouse A tag but my wife didn't as first choice...how did that not go to second choices? ALso neither of us got a 8A deer tag as first choice - again how did those not go to second choices?

Since those are such desirable tags that there are folks from WI applying there won't be any room for 2nd choice.

Since they were going to do everyone's 1st choice before moving on to anyone's second, I doubt there were any elk tags left after round 1.

Given that tags that you could get 1 to 2 hours after the queue last year didn't even get selected as first choice, I think everything must have went to only 1st choices

Download last years regs page 49. You only get a portion with the B tag and that portion is detailed in Note A.

Looks like it is limited due to private property. If you have onx I would see if it's worth purchasing the tag.

From what i know it’s south of the unit and has a bunch of private land. I selected that tag and had to call back and cancel my application before the deadline.

Looking at the regs, bear is OTC and opened Aug 30th last year. Same day as archery elk. If my buddy wanted to come with me during my archery elk hunt this year, would he be able to buy a bear tag and use a rifle while archery elk season is open.
