Hated the drive home after a game , 2 hrs went to 4 hrs right quick, 60k descending on one location creates a traffic hell
We usually just walked across the bridge and finished the night at Track Towne Pizza lol.

This time of year is hard on my oldest daughter…She’s a Duck, married a Sooner, and lives in Texas lol

I’ll be staying at the best western next to tracktown when I fly out for the Indiana game

I might actually watch Kansas football this year, my interest in continuing watching will depend on next week vs Mizzou.

I hope Oklahoma loses every ball game...

Yeah, I don’t see how as a young kid with all of the hype on him and the family heritage that you wouldn’t be tight in a game like that and no matter how hard you try to hide it, feel that pressure of those unrealistic expectations
Having those expectations on your shoulders is an unenviable position for sure. Not to mention that this isn’t the usual D3 opener opponent.

I will always appreciate him for what he has done for US Track and Field.

He built THE Mecca, I hope to see it in person some day.
My hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from Hayward Field , the kids got to run track there in HS for state championships, my oldest son won a state championship at the stadium in 2010 before the renovation, looking forward to walking over on Friday afternoon before the game on Saturday and see it , haven’t been there since the remodel

They’ve put a ton of money into the “accommodations” up there in the last 10-20 years for all sports- the Jumbotron at Austen, Hayward Field, the Sanders Stadium (softball), all of em!

Sometimes it’s just fun to just go back and catch games at the Wild Duck or Bier Stein with the crazies lol

Can’t lie it’s gonna be an emotional weekend, I’ve come to the realization when I come back in October this will 4 decades I’ve been to a duck game in AUTZEN, I remember tailgating where the 2 outdoor practice football fields are when that was just a gravel parking lot and where they’re building the new indoor practice facility and the other side there used to be the pond on the backside that I used to tailgate at that’s now the baseball field things have come a long way

Just caught the Alabama-FSU score, yikes.

Pressure is going to get high quickly for Alabama, that fan base is not accustomed to losing to unranked teams.
It’s a habit now. They lost to Vandy last year. But, I think it’s the wrong head coach. It will be Lanning or Kiffin in a year or two. ;)
