2025 Christmas gifts

I received an extra battery for the chainsaw and then the wife bought me slippers and pajama bottoms... I don't use those so I think it was another gift she plans to take out of my drawer to use herself.

Rest from family was money mostly which will likely be used for a plane ticket in February, my middle brother is moving to Montana and I'm helping him move and will fly back.

My wife is too kind to me. Skre Hardacrabble jacket and a First Lite Challis Fleece. Elk hunting in the wind this year had me complaining about my layers not cutting it (pun intended). New Casio watch for everyday use. I got her some greenhouse supplies and a greenhouse design book for inspiration.

After weeks of pestering I finally gave my wife some ideas. Basically it was screen shots I had taken for my own use. A new pack frame and a new backpacking tent. Both were from the Cabela's website. So the misses drove 1hr and 10minutes 1 way to Cabela's. While grateful for her dedication I asked why she did not just go to Bass Pro which is 20minutes and sells the same thing. Apparently that was the wrong question. I did not provide those details and it was my fault :) She got me the tent. A Kelty Late Start. I typically use a Cabelas 4 man and share with a partner. But next years trip will be a bit more rugged. And the guy I am taking is messy and never stops talking. All things that a separate tent will help mitigate.

I got two three year old nuttall oaks from my parents. The man at the nursery says they'll start producing acorns around year seven. Very much looking forward to gathering and pla ting oaks with my kids.

Had a great Christmas. Got a CZ 457 American in .22 LR and a VX Freedom in 4x12. Looking forward to dialing in it soon. Also have an MDT Field Chassis ordered to try on a Savage Axis. It’s late, but supposed to be here Monday.
