2010 Pheasant season in South Dakota looking good

The brood surveys for this year posted some great numbers. I heard that it is the fourth highest count on record, up from last year. Anyone coming to South Dakota for a pheasant hunt should be in for a good time!

Is there much open land in SD for walk ons?

Plenty of public access. I lived and hunted birds there for 5 years on public access. Look at SDGFP's website and look up the atlas. On the maps, if its colored, it's public access.

The friends we stay with in Kansas say they haven't seen pheasants like this since the 80's. I'm pretty excited!

public land 2 hour walk. wife limited and I needed one.

Just a very few on the several hundred we saw on this one walk.
