20 volt tool battery

Have Dewalt tools but shudder to consider the cost of replacement batteries labeled Dewalt. For you contractor power users, where do you look for replacements?

I usually just wait to buy more batteries until I find a deal on another tool. Usually around Black Friday I can buy a tool that comes with a couple batteries for the same price as the batteries by themselves.

How many do you need to buy? I go brand name to avoid an issues. But if you're buying ten batteries then that changes things

I use Amazon Chinese knock offs with great results for both m12 and m18's, sure there Dewalt copies are same. I can buy 3/4 batteries for price of 1 oem so to me it's worth it, performance ain't much different but I always size up 1 amprage size with the chinas and get simular performance.

I bought Amazon batteries to replace my 18v dewalt. Horrible. Didn’t fit well, didn’t last very long, and in just a few months they no longer held a charge.

I’ll buy oem from now on.

Don't complain until you need a battery for a Stihl chainsaw. It's about $400.00 as I remember.

One of the best ideas ever was standard battery sizes. AA, AAA. C, D, etc. Don't understand why they went away from that idea with rechargeable batteries. They could easily make tools to use a standard 20 volt that fits everyone. Even cars could all run on the same batteries. But no.

But I guess they make more money on the batteries than they do on the tools.

That is why the crap we deal with in CA is such BS! Used gas saws are cheap and can last forever.
