    It was farther than any elk I have killed. However, She has had the opportunity to practice out to 600 from multiple field positions. I would have put her range at 400 but since we were able to be calm and dry fire on cows for like 3 hours before he stood up, I had confidence in her.

    Reality is that there are too many variables to have a set distance limit. There are 800yd shots I would take and 50yd shots I wouldn’t. It comes down to having the experience to know which one that particular shot is.
