I'm one of the lucky ones who wears glasses/contacts. I hate wearing glasses for any type of activity, including fishing and hunting. When at home, or glamping, I'm always meticulous about washing my hands before putting my contacts in or taking them out. I haven't tried using the daily, or...
Awesome, thanks!! Sorry, I don't get on here everyday. But, since I'm located in WI (Central Time Zone), it would probably be easiest to set up a day/time for a call? I'm typically at work M-F from about 6:30am to about 5:30pm. What's your schedule like?
Yes sir. Honestly, I'll never top my 2020 deer season, so that's part of the reason why I made the decision to "go west NOW" (the other reason is because I'm getting old :ROFLMAO: )
Considering I've never hunted west of Missouri, and the furthest west I have ever been in my life was CO (once on a non-hunting trip), I don't really have much to offer in terms of western and/or elk hunting. If anyone is interested in info on whitetail hunting or musky fishing in the midwest, I...
And this is what I love about forums and why I stayed off them for the last 10 years...everyone is always quick to criticize and negative, vs being helpful and positive. With all the hype about Hunttalk, I was hoping it would have been different.
Honestly, I was trying to get to the...
Haha no worries! I've done DIY/public hunting my entire life, not because it's the hip new thing to do, but out of necessity. Honestly, I've never killed an antlered buck on private land. I live in Manitowoc (and no, I don't know Steven Avery lol), but I hunt public all over the state, and...
Found this thread in a search for elk unit 47. My buddy and I are from WI, and drew Type 1 tags for unit 47. When we found out we drew, we were SUPER pumped. However, it seems access may be limited, or the elk are mainly on private. We are both hardcore DIY whitetail guys in WI, but this will be...

Well, we thought we did lol. We saw 63% public land and ASSUMED access wasn't a problem, because here in WI public land is usually way too easy to access. There's just not much of it.
Thanks for confirming on BLM! (y)
Hey there - I came across a thread about elk unit 47, which you commented on a few years ago. My buddy and I are from WI, and are both big DIY whitetail guys. However, we aren't getting any younger, and figured since we've always wanted to elk hunt, we should do it sooner than later. Long story...
Hey guys, looking for some help here. New to the forum, not new to hunting, but this will be my first year elk hunting. My hunting partner and I are from WI, and we drew Type 1 tags for unit 47 - we were super pumped when we found out. But after doing some research, it sounds like there isn't...
