Big Game and 140 E-tips in the 7mm-08

In my Tikka with that bullet I get 2900+ FPS with RL17, PP2000mr, Big Game, Hunter, and W760. My mistake I was using 140gr Accubonds.

    160 gr Accubond for 7mm-08

First if I was going to shoot 160gr Accubonds I would use RL17, PP4000mr or RL26. Personnely I only shoot 160gr Nosler Partitions in my 7mm-08. Because they are shorter and take up less space in the case. I only use Winchester cases, they hold more powder. I use Federal 215M or Win WLRM...

    160 gr Accubond for 7mm-08

RL23, RL22, MRP and RL26 All worked good in my 257 Roberts with 115gr Nosler Partitions. MRP and RL23 were most accurate. RL26 gave highest velocity, but slightly less accurate. I got over 3100 FPS with all of them except RL26 It gave close to 3200FPS.

270 Win 150gr Interlocks pet loads?

In my 270 win if I,m using RL23 I get 3087 FPS with 140gr bullets. With 150gr Nosler Partitions and MRP I get 3084 FPS. Mostly I use the RL23 because it is temperature stable, MRP not so much, but very accurate. I have killed Elk with both.

RL23 - first time using it

I do not have a 280 anything but I do have other rifles and I have tryed RL23 in most of them. Heaviest bullet I shoot in my 270 Win is 150gr, But I only use MRP for that. It was fast and very accurate. With 140gr Bullets 58.5gr. was as hot as I could go with the RL23 I got 3094 FPS in my new...

    160 gr Accubond for 7mm-08

I have both MRP and RL22. I have shot the same loads on the same day. If loads are equal RL22 will get you a littlemore speed. the MRP will also drive a heavier bullet faster. But if you start increasing the loads the RL22 will get to high a pressure. The MRP will take about 1 to 1.5 more...

    160 gr Accubond for 7mm-08

The RL26 loads are compressed, but seem to work. Like I said I only use flat based bullets. Actually I have had loads even more compressed, like MRP with 160gr bullets. I tryed RL23 but you are right about that one it needs a bigger case. I got 2868 FPS using RL26 with 150gr Speer BT S.D. was...

    160 gr Accubond for 7mm-08

My brother had a model 70 in 7/57 he only shot 139 gr hornady bullets in it because we were only hunting deer. I loaded the Handloads for him, I used IMR 4320 for the loads. He thought he was getting 2900 FPS. Not sure if that was right. I,m going to get some 154gr Hornady SST flat based. I...

270 Win 150gr Interlocks pet loads?

H4831 is great if you already have it but the three I mentioned all have there advantages. I,m using the RL23 with 140gr Trophy Bonded Tipped or Accubonds for deer. For Elk sometimes I use MRP as it is extremely accurate and very fast. Also it is able to be used in many other calibers. Like...

    Anybody ever use 4000-MR?

Shot off a few rounds yesterday, from my Tikka Superlite with 22.4" barrel. RL26 using 160gr Nosler partitions 215M primers and Win cases 2.760 OAL gave 2760FPS. For some reason accuracy was not to good. I,ll add another .5gr and see what happens. I loaded Superformance with 140gr Ballistic...

270 Win 150gr Interlocks pet loads?

Norma MRP was the best combination accuracy/velocity that I found. RL26 would be my second choice. My Third choice would be RL23, although I have only used it with 140gr Bullets, either Accubonds or Trophy Bonded Tipped. The Big advantage is it is very temperature stable, it was also the most...

    Favorite reloading powders for hunting

I started with IMR4350 and only got about 2825 FPS using 210 Nosler Partitions. I did try RL16 I got 2965FPS. Using Norma MRP i got 3041 FPS. SD was 8.4 5 shots. That is my best load. IMR 7828SSC gave 2971 FPS. H4831 Gave 2848 FPS. I should have tryed RL26. The factory Premium Federal 210gr...

    My fellow 7mm-08 reloaders...

Here is a place to start. Got it out of the Barnes book No3 45gr W760 = 45,116 PSI at 2804 FPS. It all depends on you rifle I use Win Case And Win WLR primers. I make the Bullets jump per Barnes Recommendation I use 2.750 OAL. That should get him started. Just remember many cases hold less...

    7mm-08 ttsx 150gr

Most accurate powder in my 7mm-08 was PP2000mr and old Win 760. Both also produce high velocity.
