    Fallow buck

We first spotted this buck about 3 weeks previously in a wheat field, he was with 4 other prickets and bucks. We noticed he was limping. We tried to stalk into them but were beaten by the weather and light. So fast forward 3wks and the combine harvester is working the fields. The bailers...

Another fallow youngster for the freezer.

So we went out with the intention of getting a nice palmated fallow buck before they cast for the year.. Got to our permission. Met my hunting buddy and a plan was hatched. I would take one section and my mate would head to a high seat/tree stand over looking a wild bird seed planting. So...

    Time To Leave Montana

We did a road trip about 15 years ago. Vagas, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Zion national park, back through Vagas, Death valley, then up to the High entrance (east side ) to Yosemite national Park then finished in SF. The driving was the best part for me. Amazing scenary. Zion national Park is...

Let’s see your Trophy Room/Man Cave

They are all roe bucks apart from the one in the middle top which is a muntjac buck. CIC not SCI, I think you guys have Boone and Crocket for trophy measuring?

    Muntjac off our fallow ground.

They were brought to the They were bought over from the far East about 150years ago for private deer collections. They escaped or released and now cover a good part of Southern and central England. Amazing little deer. Never stop for more than a second or two while browsing. Hey also have tusks...

    Muntjac off our fallow ground.

Last Saturday saw us on our fallow ground for an afternoon stalk. Pretty quiet, cold wind kept them in the woods. Time was getting on and the light was starting to go. Then caught a glimpse in the thermal of a muntjac making its way along the wood edge. A nice little buck, a whistle made him...

Not enough deer being shot in the UK

The biggest trouble we have is the 'management' of the deer isn't done over a large scale area. Like the guys have said. All individual landowners can let people manage te deer how they see fit. You are lucky if you access to large areas of land that join up. Most stalkers don't have access to...

    First fallow of 2021

Cheers Richard. Goes towards paying the rent 😏 The fallow have had a good 18 months, need a few more taken off but with the lockdown it's hard to sell them on. Looks like we'll have to have loads of sausages and burgers for the summer. Cheers Jon

    First Time Euro

How I do it is clean as much meat off the head as possible. I use liquid peroxide and water mix. Boil out head for around 30-45min. Use a pressure washer to clean all the flesh off inc. brain material, because you boil it in whitening mix you don't have to whiten seperately. I goes whiter when...

    First fallow of 2021

Well the 1st of January 2021, we were up well before the hour before sunrise. Out on our fallow ground with my 15 year old son. We managed to stalk in a bunch of does with a buck in tow. We only wanted a freezer filler to gift to our landowner friends. 2021 started off well... A goid weight...

How did you learn/resources for processing your own game.

Search Scott Rea Project on YouTube. He's based over here in the UK but loads of butchery and recipes on there. Well worth some time watching it. We don't tend to pack out meat, we take the whole deer apart from the gralloch.
