How many trips for a solo pack-out
Thanks for all the responses. Sounds like 4-5’s the avg got a bull and 2-4 for a cow. I Like the idea of leaving a cart on the nearest trail. And sounds like dead falls and terrain make a huge difference on how much you want on your back!!! Thanks again. -

Great info. Thanks. I know caliber selection preferences can vary with almost every shooter. Love the input on big game since I have only shot up to white tails. Most shots around here are close. 50-150yrds. We used to hunt with slug guns per the law. Hit deer with several slugs at close range...- sbrville

LOL yeah for some reason I like a smaller cal that shoots a little flatter but I do see the advantages to some more knockdown power. Only thing i have bigger is a 30-06 remington pump. But not opposed to another gun for the collection.- sbrville

Shelf life of powder
Longer than you would think, but if you're worried about it, dump it. Elk loads 6.5 creedmoor
I drank the kool aid and got a 6.5 creedmoor for hunting. Loading 120gr ELD Match hornady bullets with Hodgens H4350 for whitetail. worked great. Was thinking of using this rifle to try Elk hunt. What loads are you guys using? Looks like 140gr eld-M shoot pretty good? Thanks SB- sbrville
