    Hmmm... I’ve got a truck but I certainly don’t want to damage it. I’ve been scouring maps and OnX all week... trying to find a place that allows me to park and walk in 2-4 miles. 42 sounds like that may not be a good idea.

    Gauze or No Gauze

    Paramedic here... gauze is great and cheap. QuickClot or Combat Gauze is also good but know how to use it. I also carry a few small OTC pills like Benadryl, ibuprofen, aspirin, Imodium, etc. They’ve got multiple uses... for example Benadryl is great at treating nausea as well as allergic...

    I live in Texas and I’m planning my first elk hunt which will probably be solo in 3rd season. I’m looking at units 22 or 42. Has anyone hunted those? What was your experience like? Also, are overnight backpacking camps allowed on BLM land? We don’t have any of it in Texas and it’s not allowed...

    I’m a lifelong outdoorsman looking to try my first elk hunt (solo) in Colorado during 3rd rifle season. I work as a cop/paramedic in Houston. Hoping to learn as much as I can for my upcoming hunt and beyond. Cheers
