And I’m just over here wishing we had a spring bear season in CO so I could do the same. Maybe I’ll put in a grant application for a spring bear season for this Bear mitigation grant program? Would certainly reduce human bear conflicts...- TheGreek

I made the trip to NW MT in the spring of ‘21 solo from Chicago. Not much hunting pressure to speak of. Didn’t see a single bear during the week. I pretty much chalked it up to being the worst bear hunter ever. Gorgeous country though.- TheGreek

Everything down there wants to stick you. Depending on the unit, you can go days without seeing them. I hunted 4 days in February of 2024 before I saw one. By that time I had turned up Mule deer, quail and elk. I Was able to kill a ewe out of the first group I spotted which I was very happy...- TheGreek

Turkey hunting, most dangerous season?
I did a fair amount of turkey hunting on public in IL and luckily never had any real close calls with other hunters. Maybe my calling was that bad!- TheGreek

Moving to NM; new to hunttalk .
That buck is from south east WY. No clue about that GMU 20 in NM. They are around in northern NM, we’ll occasionally see them driving down 285 north of Tres Piedras, but I’ll probably never draw that NR antelope tag. -
