    Antelope...Lets See Them!!!

Helped a buddy with his first pronghorn hunt in central Nevada. Because of our schedules, we were only able to hunt today, the last Saturday of the season. Figured they would be away from roads and hidden. This herd was at the tree line, away from the main roads, and in a hidden pocket.

    Wyoming Region R Deer

Loaded weapon is second amendment, so it wouldn’t be a gun crime, but hunting laws are separate. It’s not illegal to have a loaded gun in a vehicle under 2nd amendment, but it is highly illegal to have a loaded gun in a vehicle while hunting. Under second amendment I can carry a pistol, but if...

    Nevada Deer 171-173

Hunted it from the age I could hunt, till after collage. 17 is the unit but people say they give way to many tags and that's because they stay on roads or hunt Arc Dome. The dome has a decent deer population but also most of the non-road hunters. Growing up people would tell us they hunted for...

Beaver Hunting with a Deer Rifle in the Ruby Mountains in Nevada?

For beaver, you do need a trapping license for beavers. For predators you dont need a license to hunt them, but do to sell them. For all othe furbearers you need a trapping license. When it comes to shooting them, I believe that's fine, but still double check.

Has Anyone else hunted "Burro Deer" ? Any Stories about them?

Same deer, different habitats. Sounds like one has less body fat than the other which would be more caused by food types, and calorie intake vs calories burned. Antelope in wyoming have different bodies than antelope in nevada. Same antelope, different habitat. DNA of a so called Burro deer is...

Has Anyone else hunted "Burro Deer" ? Any Stories about them?

There is no real difference between them besides the fact that they are regionally adapted. They have less fat because they dont have the feed to build fat and their body burns fat quicker while trying to keep cool on the hot heat, and can survive on leaner feed because th dont need the...

    Nevada 062 Elk

My Dad does the archery cow elk hunt up there a lot. He tells me those elk move a lot. They will see then thick one day, then the next day they are miles away only to end up back where they first saw them later. Some years they hardly see any all season, then the next year they are everywhere...

    Trapping Thread 2025/2026

I was shocked when I got my bid sheet back and the Fallon Fur Sale. I thought there was a typo. I got more of those 5 cats than I did for 14 the year before

    Trapping Thread 2025/2026

Haha I am way late to the party. With kids sports and the lack of a 4wd truck, we were limited to 25 days of trapping in places my 2wd work truck to get me and only about 15 traps. Ended up with 5 cats. And of course we have record high prices on the only year I've had to limit my trapping haha.

Still Hunting Mule Deer in the Mountain West?

I'm similar to you, I hate gassing. That being said, I do glass a lot. But after a couple hours, I normally end up still hunting bedding areas, or find a good track and follow it. I do it for elk and deer, and have even had success with antelope. I've had success with both archery and rifle...

    2026 NV results

I got a 26 archery deer (burned 10 points because I got sick of waiting for the ALW tag), my buddy drew a 26 ALW deer tag (with half the points I had), and he also drew a 161-162 pronghorn tag. So August will be busy, with a couple month break, then chasing rutting desert bucks in Novemeber

    Nevada 261-268 Archery Deer

I've been wanting to do this hunt for years now. I was applying for the ALW hunt, and this year decided just to burn my 10 points on an archery tag. This is the unit I trap all fall and winter, shed hunt in the spring, and ride my dirt bike all summer. Very not many deer, and the deer move a...

I was hoping they would post something about the live draw, but I haven't been able to find anything. That gives the best idea when results will be posted. Has anyone heard anything?

This is the kind of stuff I would focus on if I had the tag. I've trapped in some of this country and saw tracks and a few deer.

    7mm08

I've had 4 killed with mine from ranges of 200 yards to 500 yards. They all did the job nicely, except one at 250 yards. A friend was using my gun and hit it a little back. One more shot from 300 yards put it down. Shot placement is more important than caliber. I have a buddy in Montana who...

    My REAL Nevada Tag Results

So my last post was a fake picture of my results. I normally do this on Instagram just to see peoples reactions about why I have my results but they don't have theirs. I got rid of all social media (besides a few hunting forums) because of how addictive and time consuming it was to me...

Nevada 2022 Tag Results Were Good To Me

It was a joke I posted before results were out. ONly drew a horns shorter than ears antelope tag. My 7 year old son is stoked for it because he gets to go with me
