Only one you can really rely on 100% is yourself. I plan most of my hunts solo. If I can get a good buddy to go that’s just a bonus, but I plan on hunting myself for most hunts. -

Finding bear locations on a map
Thanks for posting that pic. I've been looking at some fairly remote looking rugged avalanche chutes on south facing slopes, that seem like they should hold feeding bears in spring. Would love to see some pics if anyone has experience hunting avalanche chutes rather than clearcuts.- 160andup

Thanks for all the input. I will try to get an AWD SUV rather than the 2wd car I was planning on driving up! Having never been up that way before, I don't need any more limitations than I already have! Can't wait.- 160andup

Finding bear locations on a map
I've been trying to scout via google earth for likely spots to run into a blackie this spring, in the end of May. I know south facing slopes, clearcuts, closed roads, etc.. I am currently thinking the mountain regions with south facing slopes is the style I want to hunt, as it may be difficult...- 160andup

Is 4-wheel drive necessary to get to areas to find bears? How can I determine if roads are seasonal or not without driving to them and checking? Never been to this region before but was thinking about driving out with a small car in mid-May. Plan on hiking in several miles to find some untouched...- 160andup
