Unless you do not know how to hunt elk I would not waste my time with a guide in Area 7. I hunted it as a resident for 10 years and their are elk everywhere. Corner crossing in States where there is no law on the books that make it legal or illegal but department "policy" statements discourage it. I'd love to have people call in who have done it and how often they have been harassed or prosecuted etc.- bishoppa

The meat is great! I was amazed that the animal in the field had not smell at all! We did spot and stalks, ambush, and hide in the path. I missed one stalking. Were back! We had 4 of out 5 hunting days socked in with rain and snow and fog but we did manage to get one bou down with a bow. Thanks for all you advice! Despite the poor conditions and only getting 1 caibou between the 3 of us I would recommend this hunt to any one.- bishoppa
