WY 2020 application changes..
Have more than a few points to apply for elk units in WY... just read the regs, draw results moved from Feb to May for non-res hunters, OUCH! from a planning perspective, really affects those who have to decide what state to put dollars to given limited times to hunt. Just wanted to get others... -

Rifle. Yep, makes sense that either would work, depends on your prep for sure. For the early season being able to set up based on hunting pressure. i.e. knowing where the elk will 'exit the scene', could provide opportunity. Late, weather would come into play as well as sanctuaries. BUT, if... -

Thoughts on taking my 70 year old Dad Elk Hunting
Bingo!!!! I took my dad on a hunt a few years back at 79, His idea of elk hunting was to spend time with his sons and serve as camp chef. We hiked at his pace when he wanted to hike, heard and saw elk... that's it. To date, one of the best elk hunts me and my brothers have ever been on. -

I've heard them in Mid October as well over the last couple years. When we do we've strictly used it as an option to locate them. -

Guess I should've tossed mine out in the initial post... Oatmeal with dried cranberries, apples, banana chips, and usually a payday, drink: hot tea. Home made trail-mix after that for snacking. -
