Ive had a couple folks suggest this breed to me as well. Thank you all who have pointed me in the direction of a breeder. I have been in contact with the owners of a wirehair pointer, a lab kennel, and a Golden kennel.:D
I am looking for a female. no preference on Color. my budget is $400. as i mentioned, looking for a BIRD dog. not specifically a upland or lowland, but a dog that will sniff out anything that flies. My past pooches have all been Goldens, and chukar/grouse chasing fools. Do you have a contact for...
Just throwing this out there, But I am in the market for another bird dog. All around dog prefered but an upland primary dog fits the bill. Anyone selling some pups in Wyo/Mt/Sd/Nd?

Growing up, my family lived off of venison and elk, so we shot the first legal animal we saw and then filled our doe tags, and we could all do so in our back yard, so essentially 6 deer only cost us about 120$ as a family...we couldnt afford beef from the store. Now as I have moved into my own...
Anyone know of some land or looking for another couple guns? My buddy and I are not ready for hunting season to be over and are wanting to come help do some population control!
chukars are a hard bird to hit. spend some time at your local sporting range practicing shots. Even after the season is over, take the pup out and get him on birds and just practice positioning. I love your scenery shots, makes me miss chukar hunting the Snake.
im thinking they hide out in the canyon and on Ocean Lake on the Reservation and come down river to feed. I was shocked about the wood duck myself. Must be a stragler. I havent seen any since early november.
Closing Weekend of Ducks....Blue bird day, no wind, warm. Ducks had no reason to fly. only caught 2 low flying mallards and a scattered amount of golden eyes. Did manage to bag a real pretty Wood Duck Drake and a couple green wing teals and a couple widgeons. Still 2 weeks of Geese left up here...
Units 25 nd 27 straddle south pass. There are migratory elk there that run between bondurant and the red desert. Any particular reason why you chose these areas? Unit 28 has "high country" although if you venture in to the wilderness area you must have a licensed wyoming guide seeing as you are...
Oregon is very diverse. Do you want to chase Rocky Mountains or the monster bodied Roosevelts? I grew up on the western side hunting the jungle for roosevelts. You must have patience and a good pair of legs. The rocky's in eastern Oregon are nearly identical to hunting other western states. Hit...
looks like a good hunt! Down here we are setting up on the river and catching them in mid morning and late afternoon flights. 15-25 shells and floaters on ice islands and they are still responsive to locator calls.
Ducks go until this coming saturday the 18th and geese goes until Feb 1. In Platte and Goshen County, Geese go until the `15th. We went back over last weekend and limited on Mallards. Could have shot droves of golden eyes and divers and Merg's. My buddy bagged a widgeon and a gadwall. Geese...
Had a good weekend, Landed a pile of golden eyes, Mallards and Geese. Water is froze from about Winchester north through Worland, but Thermopolis north is all open Water.
