Idaho South Hills vs Pioneer zone (archery)
I have hunted 36a the past 2 years. I have seen elk every year and some decent bulls. Most of the Elk are above 8000'. I have not seen a wolf or any sign. Not saying their not there. Dado5, I was in your position a few years ago. I wanted to go elk hunting so bad but could not get anyone to commit. I swallowed my pride at went on a full outfitted hunt in Idaho. When looking up outfitters, look for picture's of previous years kills. Then get some references and call them... -

padrebowhunter, I have hunted the pioneer unit for the past 2 years and had some good hunting. I have not seen a wolf or tracks. I'm not say their not in there. I have seen elk both years and had my chances both times on bulls. Find an area that is away from roads and up high "above 7500'"... -
