    Law Enforcement on Public Lands

Have a client that's a BLM ranger, and it's him and one other guy (maybe two now) that's incharge of all of eastern Idaho. That's a whole lot of acreage for one to three guys to patrol.

    Idaho legislative alert H0043 -

Doubt it will. Not a lot of D sponsored legislation gets through the system.

    Small Creek Big Fun

Yup, it's a hybrid. A just released article from IDFG from the same basin: https://idfg.idaho.gov/blog/2022/11/understanding-brook-trout-invasions-idaho-high-country-bull-trout-streams

Define a "Good Day Hunting" when you don't kill.

When it comes to big game I always figured a good day hunting was when I didn't get a kill. No quicker way to ruin a hunt than to get an animal down.

    Small Creek Big Fun

I figured the worm tracks on the back and dorsal fin made it a brookie. Generally the bulls I catch up there are more olive colored than this one. Hybrid maybe?

    Small Creek Big Fun

Top one is a generic rainbow as far as I know (don't quite understand the difference between a rainbow and a redband), and the bottom is a brook. There are bulls in that stream, but I didn't get any that day I'm afraid.

    Small Creek Big Fun

The fish weren't very big in this little creek, but there were a lot of them to be found.

    Joe Picket

I read the first three novels, but I got sick of everyone thinking Joe was a loser. I would have figured after the events of the first couple of novels people would start taking Joe seriously. Doesn't sound like I'm missing much on the TV show.

NAMWC Champion Doug Sayer's Latest Hunt

Gosh, I love this guy. Broken femurs can't stand in the way of a hero shot. https://www.idahostatejournal.com/news/local/local-businessman-breaks-leg-requires-coast-guard-rescue-during-alaskan-bear-hunt/article_1ff1074a-04ff-58ac-b34f-b72cf6670aea.html

    Kids sports

While I generally do my best to refrain from being critical of anyone who donates their time to coach a youth sport, my middle son had a pretty bad coach for his 4th grade flag football team last spring. It inspired me to coach my youngest son's 1st/2nd grade flag team last fall. Thankfully...

    Impressed with monolithic bullet

I'm still trying to get through all my Partition rounds, but my wife has shot a deer and antelope with some 140gr ETips out of her 7mm-08. I think between the two of them they combined for one step after the shot. About zero ruined meat as well. I actually found some 168 gr TTSXs the other...

    The Mrs.' first antelope

Not much of a story to tell: After many years one of us finally drew an Idaho rifle antelope tag, but given all the things my kids are involved in, we really only had opening day for her to get it done. This was the first buck that was willing to stand still within my wife's range that day...
