    OYOA App

I haven’t been on this site for a long time. I just wanted to point out that I was right, in a way. This has been said many times in other posts and threads but this new format is so so much better.

Help me trick out a Remington Ultimate 700 muzzleloader

I got rid of the bulky boxy composite stock and bedded it in a Mesa Precision Arms Altitude Carbon fiber stock. I carry a 3 piece collapsible ramrod and kept the stock one as a range rod. I put a Vortex Razor HDLH on it with Talley one piece lite weight mounts. It lightened up a ton. I had the...

    Utah Elk w/ a Muzzleloader

Can't believe its been 22 years since drawing my last limited entry elk tag in Utah. My oldest son was 2. My wife and I were still in college and our future was not set. Now, two kids are in college, a 3rd will be a senior in HS and our 4th starts HS this fall and I'm approaching 20 years at the...

    Eberlestock J34 Just One

I've packed out three big bulls and two buffalo with mine and the Just One pack did its job. I really like the gun scabbard. Its the first and only hunting pack, besides a pack frame, I ever bought so I don't know anything else.

    Randy - The Blues Elixir

I haven't posted to this or any other forum in some time. Work has been off the charts with no slow down in sight which I am grateful for but my life outside the office suffered this past year. I put in for some tough draws last year because I knew I couldn't take much time off. But really, I...

Decision: Go Opening Week or Wait a Week?

I've hunted Wyoming before. Here's what I've found. The mtn may be crowded on opening morning or weekend. My two most favorite days to hunt are Wednesday and Thursday. Choose to hunt the archery season. Hunt 2 or miles away from roads. Hunt a week or more after the rifle opener...if you have...

    Wyoming Upcoming Elk Draw Results

With a 0.1% chance I...didn't draw. Oh well. Probably couldn't top last year anyway. On to UT elk. I can smell a tag in the mail.

    Utah LE deer

Elk Ridge or Paunsaugunt are the only decent areas left. Not a fan of the Book Cliffs except for elk or season 3 Colorado. Go with Elk Ridge. My dad killed a nice buck there in 2010. 26" wide. Scored better than my 33" NV buck.

    AZ late season elk

ovis2 - I wanted to say that your story was very well written and I really enjoyed reading it. Your descriptive writing mixed with humor was better than what I've read in magazines. Your students have a great professor to listen too. Especially if you weave in some of your hunt. (probably OK at...

    A 16 year old kid's 1st bull

Dave and I helped out our buddy the last couple weeks who is an outfitter in Nevada. Stew from Georgia drew the same tag we had the last two years so we offered our help to find him a good bull. Mark spent the first week guiding another client in a different unit while we scouted and glassed...

    Where would you hunt?

Wyoming general elk for sure. WY Antelope is a fun low budget hunt, probably #1. Mule deer in one of the western regions can be affordable and while hiking in beautiful country you can find a good buck. Utah combo deer and elk. I've never done this but thought about it once or twice. I tend to...

Nice pictures and great looking memories. I missed hunting antelope this year due to an elk hunt but your pics and story may help me cope. Thanks.

    backpack

Sorry, I don't own either brand but... In the span of a week last year I bought every backpack the local Sportsman's Warehouse had in stock. I returned each one by one finally settling on the Eberlestock Just One. I've hunted with it since and have loved every bit of it. So far it has helped...

    Hello from Dayton,Nevada

Welcome. You must be one tough SOB. 1) to be a camp host and 2) to archery hunt big NV bucks. I can't think of two harder things to do.

    2nd Chance Buck

I've never put my hands on a whitetail (bucket list item) but that one looks like a keeper. Congratulations.
