No - oh no - you are NOT the only one. Most of my conscious moments, and unconconcious ones too, involve hunting. I too "want it all and love it all". I'd safely wager we all do the same. As for me, I daydream about the Kaibab here in Arizona. Three short, but almost unbearably long weeks away...
Yup.Ditto. Without intending to sound elitist, bowhunting makes me a better hunter - in any venue or discipline - just because I'm at such a huge ballistic disadvantage over a firearm. I have to be better. Good, thoughtful stuff. Thanks.
Dang. One more thing to think about. I also have a Thermarest Prolite 3 and like it a lot... but this thing looks thicker and lighter. I'm an unapologetic 'weight weeny' and if I can find something that performs better, and weighs less... I'm in. Watching the reviews too.
Back problems?! Brother, this site doesn't have enough bandwidth to list 'em all. About 5 years ago, I herniated (sp. ?) 2 disks in my lower back doing stupid home improvement stuff. My doc, who is an avid backpacker, put me on stringent regime of physical therapy and back stretches and...
I like it. However, son #1 already owns one and son #2 will inherit my old rangefinder as soon as I buy the RX-1000. All this is compounded by earlier purchases, this year, including a new scope, backpack tent and boots. Hmmm... gotta be delicate with this, I'm on thin ice as it is.
OK. I had the chance to fondle the RX-1000 this past weekend at my LBS - local bow shop - and made up my mind to get it. Everything performs as advertised and I'm sold. Now for the tough part... I have to rationalize this aquisition to the missus. You've all been there. Any imaginative, creative...
Yup. Me too. We don't always get the time or opportunity to range an actual animal when they just happen to tootle into our lane. I'm leaning toward the Leupold RX-1000 but like most guys here, or anywhere, I'm not made outta money and I don't want to invest in a piece of gear that doesn't meet...
Wow! Looks like pack-apalooza in those pics. Lucky for me - according to googlemap - my driveway is 1,089 miles from MR's parking lot. Otherwise I'd have dropped some serious coin. Almost woulda been worth the trip tho.
That is great news. Having reputable, respected and high visibility sponsors, like Leupold, onboard go a long way to establish your - and the show's - credibility with viewers and additional sponsors as well. Nice job!
Good info. I had the chance to play around with a Nikon Archers Choice and although I didn't fall in love with it, I did like the angle compensation feature. The primary use for the new RF will be bowhunting. I hunt treestands somewhat but mostly find myself spot & stalking steepish canyons and...
Anybody using the new Leupold RX-1000 RF? They redesigned it to eliminate a lot of the admittedly confusing features on their RX-II model and it looks pretty interesting. Uses red LED instead of LCD imaging. Smaller and lighter too.. a big plus for a gram geek like myself. Just looking for some...
Yup, like everybody else, I'm looking forward to the premiere of the show. I really like the idea of a hunting program that focuses on DIY hunts. My kinda stuff.
