Thanks! He’s basically accepted he’s going to get taken on it as a trade in. Just sucks how Sig has handled this. $600 gun, almost $100 for each holster and I think mags were each $50 new.
If you look hard enough at the used rack at gunshops and pawn shops you should be able to find a good used shotgun to get you started that will last a long while. Finish might be a bit rough but most should work just fine. Lots of good suggestions here already in the various pump shotguns on the...
I look forward to your hunt write ups every year. This one, I didn’t want to end but I’m glad it ended with a great ram for you and a great story for us all to enjoy. Thanks for posting here! Congrats on the whole adventure!
I always thought that a Ruger Charger with a pistol brace or SBR, the right load, and a can on it would make such a fun and compact squirrel rifle. The takedowns are tempting!
It’s still my favorite over-all handgun after trying lots of rotators and pistols.
I like the hard/rubber smooth grip better than the soft finger groove versions. The Match Champion and Lipsey half-lugs are even better yet!
Fair enough! you need a Wingmaster! My Express has been my only shotgun for 99% of what I’ve done with a shotgun, bought it when I was 14 or 15, and used it around our family’s dairy on thousands of trash birds as well as all my hunting too. Hard to beat an 870 and I hope there’s no finish left...
I definitely don’t have the whole chukar thing figured out as @NR_Hunter can attest too, from his last trip out, but I hunt with a friend who has some decent dogs. I don’t see how you could do it without dogs.
That’s my only regret with this one from 20-odd years ago. Wish I had bought a lightly used Wingmaster years ago instead of this Express that was new at the time. I’ve made up my mind that both of my kids will get a 20ga Wingmaster for their first shotgun after a youth model 870 Express. If...
Stubbornness around heavy guns and chukars is a mental disorder. There are too many scars and memories on my 12Ga 870 Express to prevent more from being added by leaving it home.
on anything rimfire, I’m very happy with 2-7x or 3-9x. I keep wanting to try the VX-Freedom Rimfires, but have recently cheaped out and went with a Burris Droptine with the Rimfire reticle. I’ve only put a couple hundred rounds through it but it was great fun plinking cans out to 125yards with a...
Ok, I actually have it in my possession after a Gunbroker dealing from hell. It only took 28 days to make it to me. There was two weeks where I thought it was lost and I wasn’t going to get it. Now I can commence holster shopping.
Here it is, in all its glory, crappy picture in the house until...
