    Wyoming antelope fun

Not quite... :) We had seen the 2 does and one buck and snuck in to 200 yards. I got on the buck and Asher got on one doe (Asher had 2 doe tags). I shot the buck and he shot one of the does. Other doe just stood there, so he shot her. As we were gathering up our stuff to walk over, the...

Elk ivories in a euro mount?

That's a great bull! Love the mass! I have all my euros done by a guy I know. He always puts the ivories in a sealed baggie and tapes them to the horns. I've never bothered putting them back in the skull. I just add them to the collection I already have.

So I want to go to Kodiak

I'm headed to Kodiak in November for deer and ducks. This will be my 5th trip to the island (bear, goat and this will be 3rd time for deer). I've used Island Air each time. On previous deer hunts (in November) we've had propane and a buddy heater and made base camp where the plane drops us...

    Feral horse removal

Buddy of mine adopted Hawk for $25 almost 30 years ago. One of the best mountain horses I've been around. His only regret was not adopting a couple more at the time. I'm sure proper training had a lot to do with how he turned out, though. Hoping he'll be packing out another elk for me this Fall.

    Retiring in the Pacific Northwest

Both OR and WA rank as two of the worst states to retire in. They'll gladly tax the sh*t out of you while alive and dead. If you can get past that, there are beautiful places in both states. I love Eastern Oregon, and you would still be within driving distance of your son. Southern Oregon...

The big 18 and adult things?

Alot of good advice already and good for you for even thinking about this stuff at 18. Definitely agree with investing early and often. Also, have balance in everything. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. I'll tell you what I've told my two boys. Do something that will one day allow you to be your...

Post up your proud Dad moments. The one that made me a daddy graduated from college in April and married his high school sweetheart last Friday. I’m feeling old, but blessed.

Alaska Super Seven Big Game Raffle/Brown Bear

Finally got my skull back. I'm amazed at the size difference between it and my Kodiak bear. Also put in my biggest black bear for comparison.
