I don’t know what brand, I just searched the web until I found tirechains listed in my tire size and had “V” bars and camlocks. They are worth the money and you don’t have to waste time with rubber snubbers that break and cost you a chain…
I have had good luck with the toyo AT3. They seem to do pretty well all around. They are not a dedicated snow or mud tire, but they do fairly well in both for an all terrain.
I also have a 2022 tundra and that is the tire I currently have in a 285/75 r18 size. Suspension is stock and they fit...
I was reading through my owner's manual and the size tires I have warned against the use of tirechains. I have a 2016 Silverado and the size tires have (Cooper AT3 XL 265/70/R18). My question is this warning for all four tires or just the front? I have never had tirechains before. I am heading...
Doing my first hunt this year second rifle CO. I need to buy some tirechains, need to fit 275/70-18. Before I buy some new ones, I would like to see if I can find some used ones. Thank you.
I haven't done much of it but I want to. An old timer gave me a tire tube the diameter of a bucket that he put ply wood on top and covered in fabric. Made for a comfortable seat on top of the covered bucket. Also shoe chains.
The places I have used tirechains here in Colorado, have never needed chains on all four tires. Putting them on front or rear depends on the situation. For the most part I have always put them on the up hill side when steep and on the rear when relatively flat. Putting them on the rear while...
...pack, parachute cord, a replaceable blade knife for meat care, and another for other stuff, matches/lighters, a chainsaw can be helpful, tirechains, a good attitude.
Don’t let getting ready/packing stress you out. Get the major stuff, if you forget something small you can pick it up on the...
...nearly 3k feet below where I had set up camp when it was dry. A quick trip to Napa auto parts and I had the tightest fitting pair of tirechains that I have ever seen. I then went to the local market to buy some super dried out wood so that we could get the wood stove cranking tonight as we...

Kahtoola Micro spikes for the win! Most comfortable supportive boots I own are lousy on wet and snow. The Kahtoola micro spikes make a D-7 Caterpillar out of me.
I’ve been trying to be better about wearing yak trap on my boots. When I’m hunting in snow and frozen conditions. They are like tirechains for your feet.
I think the manufacturer wants to limit their liability to any damage done to the drivetrain and make those warnings. I will usually chain up all 4, eventually you will need to or you’re not really testing the conditions of the snow.
I have a 2022 Chevy 3500 and I got a complete set of 4 “V”...
I had a set of these. They are a really good highway/gravel/snow tire. They absolutely suck in mud and are marginal in deep snow when you’re nearing the point of putting in chains but still gotta send it.
