Awesome info! I'm gonna cast the bank robber at the fly shop in the near future. Lots of rods to choose from. I will mainly be casting from shore, so I'll make sure the bank robber would work for me. Good price point!
Thanks for the replies! Id love to build my own, but would hate to screw something up. I settled on a 7wt rather than a 6wt mainly cause I already have a 5wt and didn't think the 6 would gain Mr much. An 8wt just seemed overkill and the 7wt seems just right. I definitely want a fast action...
...7wt fly rod to throw streamers and hunt some Browns with. My 5 wt just isn't enough. Anyone have a recommendation? Trying to keep it to no more than $5-600. Looked at Clutch, Sage, St Croix "Bank robber", Scott and G. Loomis so far.
If nothing else, let's see some trout!!

I have the core4element Element pants and wear them 90% of the time for archery and rifle season. They are great during archery without long Johns, there are 2 vents on inner thighs. When it's cold, I just zip them up and usually have merino wool bottoms on as well. These pants work in a wide...
There are a lot of higher end boots better than Danner depending on your hunting style. Lowa, Hanwag, zamberlan, La Sportiva, Schnees, etc to name a few. Do research as they all fit a different style of foot. There are a chit ton of threads on here discussing the pros and cons of most all of...
Do research on the actual size of a Yeti. A yeti 65 doesn't mean it holds 65 quarts it's just a model number. A Pelican 65 holds at least that. And costs $150 less. Yetis are extremely overpriced compared to other similar coolers on the market. I'm not saying they aren't good coolers but do...
I haven't tried that one. But I have used EK Scope Dope with good results. I found some premoistened antifog /cleaner wipes that work well as well. Can't remember the name though.
I've looked into this as well, I found some that are $175/day with a 5 day minimum. I think it would be worth it! Even at $2k I'd still say it's a decent deal. Of course I'll do anything to get away from the crowd.
I would call Lathrop and sons and get their opinion. He is a straight shooter and carries both Hanwag and Lowa. Everything I read was positive when looking at new boots. I went with the Lowa Tibets since I got them on sale for $250. No regrets, great boot.
Sometimes they just need a little TLC..
Try retreating your pants. Way cheaper than buying new ones. That's what I do with my camo every year. Washing them wears off the water proofing.
I'm looking at upgrading my gear since I ripped up my Core4's. I'm not set on any brand yet, mainly considering first lite, Sitka or kuiu. I like the Sitka gear, it is good quality. I just hate the limited camo options and other hunting buddies have it. I mainly hunt in Wyoming so I get a mix...
My brother and I just ordered a Davis tent. It was $1100 for a 14x16 with a screen, two windows and an angle kit. We added the fire retardant as well. If you plan on using this tent doe many years, then I'd spend a little more if needed. Used tents are always out there for a good price and you...
I haven't had a service issue yet, just sizing issues.
My cousin had some pants that he tested when he got them by pouring a little water on them, instead of beading up and running off it just soaked in immediately. Pants must have never got treated, it was weird. The Kuiu rep literally...
I hunt the bighorns each year since I live here. I would suggest putting in for a special draw elk tag. 37 is a general area and there are a ton of hunters in this unit and just as many ATV's. Typically you have to get at least 2-3 miles from the road to get away from the hunting pressure and...
