I wondered about it being deer season, and how that might impact or limit my options. Not sure if some places limit hog hunters during deer season. I suppose I would if I were them...
Hi all -
Question for you all regarding Hog Hunting in Texas, specifically in the Austin/Lake Travis area. My wife and I are planning a family vacation to the area this November, and I am interested in spending a day or two going on a hog hunt. I am a Colorado hunter, so I don't exactly know...
Hi all - I meant to follow up a few weeks ago, but time got away from me. Anyway, a brief recap of the hunt. The area described above was BUSY. There were a lot of other hunters - I think we counted over 30 trucks at the trailhead... It was not ideal. On opening morning we heard a lot of...
Hello - I am interested in buying a new SA shotgun, and I am torn between the Weatherby 18i and the Weatherby Element. I will get the black/synthetic version of either, if that matters. Thoughts on the pros/cons and similarities/differences between the two?
Thanks all!
I haven't been up there since August, but when I was there, I got rained on a good amount. Also looks like there's some precipitation in the forecast for *** in the coming days - hoping that means creeks and streams will be flowing.

Thanks for the solid advice - I really appreciate it! My plan is to stay pretty low to start; to be near the YZ Ranch boundary on the first few mornings. I will pick a different drainage that runs into that property each day, and hope I am able to turn something up. I am fairly young and...
...had success on an elk, I am not too afraid that I am divulging any grand secrets : )
Anyway, I am going to hunt unit 24 in CO, right outside of ****. My plan is to hunt the drainages below *** Mountain. I have spent a fair amount of time in the area, and have patterned the elk using a few...
Agree! A lot of folks come here to hunt because of the OTC tags. But many of the out of staters aren't as comfortable getting too far from the road or the truck. Not to say that many aren't - I am sure that there are plenty of guys who travel to CO from PA who get after it. But I think...
Might have some luck on the SWAs on the South Platte out east? I haven't been - but some of them look fairly wooded. Though the deer hunters might be annoyed.
