I got 3 tags - antelope, regional deer, and a doe/fawn deer tag. Doubt that I’ll use the doe/fawn tag, but may get a river bottom whitetail doe in an area that I’ve been wanting to explore
On my way to the the western ridge I explored the bedding flat. Yesterday when I first saw it I estimated it was 1200 yards from the road by using the OnX compass tool. The rangefinder confirmed it was 1225 yards to a silo on the road.
The bedding area as seen from the road was a lot more...
2025 antelope season is a wrap. My son took a doe on the opener, I found a nice buck late in the same day (spread out over two districts) and then I went back out this weekend to fill my doe tag, which happened fast first thing in the morning. It ended up being a great couple of hunts, and the...
I've gone to wyoming on antelope doe and whitetail doe tags. Some of the guys I work with think I'm absolutely crazy. When they ask why I would do that I tell them that I will be hunting out west and you will not, just think about the adventure I will have while you are sitting at home.
Bragging about shot distance is about as g*y as wearing Sitka IMO :D.
I will say this...My buddies daughter just got into hunting this year. I've enjoyed seeing the photos of a young lady next to a fork and horn deer and a doe antelope with a grin from ear to ear and a walmart special .270...
I just looked it up. Depending on the area some sell for $10,000 to $15,000. More than I realized. Unfortunately I believe that hunting is rapidly becoming a rich man's hobby. I try to apply for deer tags in areas that are not popular that area use to be 041-042. As people pour into Nevada...
I feel very similar to this. I'm not sure what happens with does but sometimes I can't keep it together. This year I had a doe antelope tag and I was locked into a tripod everything was solid. Everything other than the energizer bunny the was housed in my right leg. That thing was shaking like...
Me and my son drew deer tags and doe tags to go with them. Unfortunately, I really thought I had the points to draw an antelope tag, but it continues to evade me.
Took the kids to casper wyoming with whitetail doe tags. We saw antelope and mule deer in abundance but absolutely no whitetail. We had a ton of fun but will not do that hunt again.
When I look at all the accomplishments of Habitat Montana prior to 2021 compared to the last 5 years, or talk with FWP staff about the access/lands projects that might have been, or think of state employee morale, recruitment, and retention (across a ton of agencies), I disagree. The B licenses...
Can I ask which GMU? I pulled a private land doe tag this fall and am looking for a landowner willing to give me access. I'm happy to mend fences or shovel horse stalls! Also very happy to walk a ways, get my belly in the dirt, and not be one of 'those guys.'
Saturday morning
The alarm went off way too early, and yet I was already awake. Exciting hunting plans tend to make me a much lighter sleeper.
Driving towards the WIHA I had been at the afternoon/evening before, my plan was to use darkness to cross some of the more open areas and sneak in...
General elk on the NF for archery season then private land.
Cow elk on private land.
WT license and mule deer on private, MD numbers may just be better than last year but we'll see.
Spouse has a pronghorn license here close to town and we've been seeing some good bucks, so hopefully an...
The Japanese Akita is a breed of dogs that is so close to wolves. They were bred to fight Japan’s Brown Bears in pits. These bears are close to Grizzlies and still found on Japan’s large island of Hokkaido
I had a big male Akita long ago when I lived in Wyoming. His name was “Nick” short for...
yea, that must be it...
My wife taught public high school chemistry for 15 years, until just three years ago. Try again...
I figured you had all the answers based on your initial post. And now I know!
