I did a lot of catfishing in June with family and friends after the crappie spawn wound down. Crappie fishing gets real slow for a spell after the spawn but they are now showing signs of life. Still not wide open, had to hit a half dozen spots to put a catch together. It should just get better...
I took a couple guys catfishing this week that were over there last week. They fished with a guide that had a 15 fish limit on the perch. They caught their perch and a couple big rainbows.
I haven't applied for any Oregon tag since 2014. Not even my landowner tags. There's fewer deer every year. I will pick up a damage cow tag if it looks like there's a chance.
Crappie are pretty much in their post spawn funk phase so we moved on to catfish. This is my wife's favorite fishing so she always goes on the first trip. We set a limit of 12 total just to make a shorter day of it. Got into them right away, eating cats 2-3 lbs. We did hook a couple bigger fish...
