Barnes has their light for caliber tac-tx bullets that are supposed to expand at low velocities. They make them for 300 black out, 6.5 Grendel, and 6 arc. Pretty impressive out of the 300 blackout on hogs. However I have been doing some load development with my 308 and 300win. 120 out of the 300...
A very good hunter I know always told me that 280 is a sweet spot for compound bows. Between broadhead flight, penetration, noise, and trajectory it seems like a great place to be at if your at a 28+ draw length.
Notice I said “Dodge” not “Duck”
At 240 they literally spin, jump, and run out of the arrows path. Pretty comical actually. Now at 300 that thing is prolly so loud an F350 would probably duck!
Boy that was prolly the luckiest guys I’ve ever met. The credit should go to my second captain he saw them flashing the mirror. Cool memory for sure. Hit me up when your in town!
Watched this video the other day as I’m doing so loading for my wife’s 7m08 for an upcoming deer hunt
Explains that there are a couple powders that are just plain perfect for 7mm 08 and Varget is one of them. I have also found that to be the case. The load I have for her 20in tikka is a 150...
As a fishing guide I would say that 80% of my clients are over the age of 55 with a significant amount over 70. I tell people all the time that they retire way too late. One of the things I hate doing the most is telling clients they can’t come out anymore cause they physically can’t do it.
With a 26.5 draw it’s going to be difficult to achieve speeds into the 280+ range. I’ve seen deer dodge my wife’s bow at 30 yards at 240 fps. Everyone has their own opinions and needs but i feel like 240 is to slow unless your shooting hogs out of a tree stand.
Well I found a bit of info about these bullets from this forum so I figured I post how they worked for me. I originally was in need of a lead free option for varmint hunting mostly for foxes. After having some bad results from solid copper rounds I gave these a try and have been extremely...
I have 150 new brass for a 7 Mega by Sherman Wildcats which for those unfamiliar is basically a 7wsm with an improved shoulder. The brass new comes in 30 cal and needs to be necked down. I’ve done quite a bit of reloading just for some reason have never necked brass down. I’m sure theirs several...
Well my wife drew the general tag for sw desert with 7 points this year. I figured with creep should would not but here we are. Been through the area a few times just never hunted it. I plan on sticking to the Nevada border as much as possible and will obviously be camping. I’ll probably head up...
