Shite, i dont even do that anymore but mounting a scope is less of a hassle than changing oil and the odds of someone else messing up the scope mounting is higher. For sure more likely to not have eye relief set appropriately!
Been obvious that Snyder is far from what we want as a hunting ambassador for a long time. I watched the video up til a little after he knifed it in the throat. Seemed stupid and in poor taste but not remotely close to say the guy who took an injured wolf to the bar. I expected worse after the...
Interesting 9 year old thread bump.
Mounting a scope is outrageously simple yet gun counter people are prone to messing it up. If you want it done right, do it yourself. I haven't lapped rings in years but if I had to use talleys or some other mount that isn't on a full rail i'd probably...
Which makes you wonder.. what's taking the feds so long to get on board? Someone has to help pick up the slack to pay for all the corporate handouts, military industrial complex, and wars for Israel..
The majority of Americans support legalization of Marijuana. I would venture to guess that the majority of them don't think anyone who casually uses or posesses MJ should have different firearm ownership restrictions.
Agree with others, I'd have no hesitation using the american whitetail ammo for elk. That bullet should pair well with a shorty 7/08. You're not lauching them at warp speed so you want a little fragmentation. That'll perform better terminally than a hard bullet at moderate speeds.
Seems like the gen 1 recoil x is probably pretty close in effectiveness to the existing SRS brake. The "comp" or gen2 is going to be a little more effective.
What is justified for cost is in the eye of the beholder i guess. I think that SRS brake would be an appreciated improvement for recoil...
They have a new model that will be more effective releasing next week called "the Grim" although it might be a little heavy biased against muzzle rise for magnums like the rX comp brake mentioned below (just a guess from looking at it).
I have one of these on my XC, it works...
It wont make your suppressor recoil like it would with an agressive brake but I bet it helps.
The I've only used the sico end cap brakes and recoil X gen 1 brakes on the end of my cans and the recoil x helps quite a bit. Theres good data on how the end cap brakes work in the recent outdoorlife...
Anyone who hasn't messed up their distance or dope before probably doesn't shoot much or tell the truth.. Woulda been a good thing to verify right away though haha! glad you got it sorted.
I think it's cool and makes a lot of sense to introduce in the 6.5 creedmoor case. There are two primary things I see as possible down sides:
1. Exposure to higher odds of piercing primers - i believe the harder case heads/primer pockets will mitigate some of this but not all? It's a question...
Seems you didn't get that reaction. I'd venture to guess that most "bowhunters" are also firearm hunters and are just generalists take whatever opportunity that is given to them. I and near all of my friends that bow hunt hunt with guns as well. Lots of people love the opportunity to hunt...
There's a flip side to that. When you promote season structure that kills off the age class and quality you're encouraging people to pay to play and lock up land if they want to hunt mature bucks. That'll just decrease access for many and push more to public ground.
I'm sure there are people...
Depends what your herd management goal is. If people are happy with 10% of the male deer reaching 3 years old primarily due to our season structure, sure. Keep making it easier and easier to kill a deer. It's kind of depressing to me to see such a thing though.
I'd take a mid Oct rifle season...
